Symposium Program

Planning for a comprehensive program is underway, stay tuned for more information by joining our mailing list.

The program will include contributions from our two high profile international speakers with support from a New Zealand/Australia faculty.

The program will include cardiology and cardiac surgical topics highlighting current controversies and recent advances in adult congenital heart disease. It will be designed to have appeal to cardiac teams with established and developing programs for this expanding field.

Main topics will include:

  • Evolving interventional strategies for adult congenital heart diseaseRefining excellence in surgical outcome
  • Comparing surgical and interventional approaches in the current era
  • Newer ACHD populations – adults with hypoplastic left heart and arterial switch patients settle in to the ACHD community
  • Fontan circulation update

With major themes of:Congenital/Structural

  • Intervention
  • Optimisation of models of care
  • Evolving therapies for an evolving population

There will be 2 Case Presentation Prize sessions for junior members of the team to present with the support of their local team. Case based discussion of these complex cases will be undertaken and we anticipate a highly interactive and collegial gathering.

We hope you will also consider joining us for one of the activities on offer such as yoga, surfing and gin tasting after a walk in the rainforest.
